Hello,
Please better close the initial question and open a new one if you want
to substantially change your question: now your comment #1 has little to
do with the question.
This being said, most often people perform YADE simulations using also
some numerical damping through damping attribute of NewtonIntegrator
engine [*], which is a second source of energy dissipation (in addition
to plastic sliding at the contact scale).
Note this damping is a pure numerical trick, without any physical
meaning. (See few comments in previous questions or the DEM literature)
