I would be surprised this is a working script as requested by Luc...
See the typo "checker.ietrPeriod = 1" in set_friction() definition..

Note also that it's kind of sad to use loops (in the set_interaction() definition) to count interactions in Yade (or elements of any Python list, from a more general point of view).
We fortunately have built-in functions for such purpose:
