[Question #698365]: non zero incident velocity on sticking contact
New question #698365 on Yade:
https://answers.launchpad.net/yade/+question/698365
Hello,
I am outputing contact and sphere attributes for a simulation of frictional spheres. I wish to determine whether a contact is sliding or rolling or both or none.
Using the body velocities or the i.geom.incidentVel(i) option I get the same result: velocities in the order of magnitude of the sphere velocities, even for non sliding. Why is that the case and how can I get the 'correct' relative velocity at the contact, i.e. a value close to zero for sticking contacts?
Any help or explanation is greatly appreciated!
