    Status: Open => Needs information

Jan Stránský requested more information:
Hello,

please be specific.
Probably open a separate questions for separate problems.
It would be easier to understand and also more valuable for others.

> Can you give some advice on learning the process from theory to code?

IMO theory and code are somewhat independent concepts.
You can develop perfect theory without any need of code.
You can code a model just from the theory without knowing anything about the theory.
Anyway, please be more specific, probably nobody would write a comprehensive "full scale" advises..

For new Yade material model development, you should:
- understanding basic Yade material-related concepts and components (Material, Ip2, IPhys, Law2 and what they do)
- go through some existing material models, probably starting with Frict* and Law2_ScGeom_FrictPhys_CundallStrack is a good idea (discussed in [1])

Cheers
Jan
