The mkisofs_cmd auggy mentioned is the correct way to go about this -
the default is easily overriden. See the docs[1][2] for information on
how/why you'd use this option.

  Allow the usage of mkisofs instead of genisoimage

Bug description:
  Hello

  nova is relying on genisoimage from cdrkit. The problem is that cdrkit
  is completely dead for ages and unmaintained, then, wouldn't it be
  possible to allow us to use mkisofs (from cdrtools) with nova?
