  Scriptify the generation of man pages

Bug description:
  I recently submitted a change that added man pages to glance so that
  all executables had one.  In the review, we discussed the maintenance
  burden imposed by the man pages in their current state.  Some code
  should be written to help generate the man pages to ease the
  maintenance burden and help prevent them from getting out of date.
