I think the target audience for Box is somewhat different than Inkscape.
Box is not alone, there is Asymptote, GLE, Tikz and many other vector
graphic languages which primary goal is to let the user describe the
vectors precisely, and also in relation to each other. Another typical
thing with these vector description languages is that the same input source
can generate different types of output. PNG, GIF, EPS, PS, PDF etc. can be
generated from the same code. A Box plugin would be to vector graphics what
your graphviz plugin already is to diagrams.
