some internet kiosk keyboards have no ALT or CTRL even..
most keyboards profide super key, even apple.
let's work with that it for now..

It would be nice to standardise these (and other apps). There's already
a relevant section in the GNOME HIG:

but it doesn't say anything about tabs (although it does mention
documents).

as USL folks with NASA already discovered, consistency is key in designing an easily learnable interface.

let the guys at GNOME Usability know about your thought, they will surely include a section in the new HIG Book 3.0
