Re: [Ayatana] Messaging Menu and the MeMenu

Having both outgoing and incoming in one menu is a lot of stuff.

If I see a mail icon with number 2 or something indicating I have a messages (which is kinda how a message icon should act)
I would expect that when I click it to either see my gmail account open to that message, or at least see part of that message.

This required behavior of a message notification menu already places a-lot on its plate. Tying it together with broadcasting and you will have a mess.

The broadcast + power mockup i submitted keeps it simple and to the point. It is a global action menu. I also like to say that limiting it to broadcast keeps the structure timeless. Bringing in incoming to the menu makes it much more personal and requires more actions (icons) in which to communicate. If you start showing emails, next your going to want phone calls and video chats and all your tweet responses. Which I feel are far better suited to be in there own streamlined and personal applications. Notification in the unity bar!

A tweetback should pop up a tweet application that opens your twitter page or something similar. This also allows modularity. A better application could easily replace it. This shouldn't be the win7 phone, this should be like android. If you put to much color in one location your going to get poo.

Ps, a way to close applications from the unity bar would also be nice, be it a middle click or close icon top right of the icon :p...whatever.
