Have you tried Henning Heinold method ?

I have sometimes problems too and solving them with the "hardwaretrick",

which means pressing left of the micro-holes on the frame of the display.

Its strange but it worked for me. But after half an hour connection
became unstable. My model is AC100 10V using latest marvin24 kernel on
debian armhf.

Absolutely facinating:) I started pinging the AP while pressing left of the two holes and it works. Every time I stop pressing, the pinging stops with packet drops.
Perhaps Toshiba should have shipped the AC100 with a clothespeg :D

But, why is Wifi working with Android?

In dmesg I constantly get (connection is stable):

[ 7140.631127] phy0 -> rt2800usb_txdone_entry_check: Warning - TX status
report missed for queue 2 entry 5
[ 7140.634491] phy0 -> rt2800usb_txdone_entry_check: Warning - TX status
report missed for queue 2 entry 6
[ 7140.637097] phy0 -> rt2800usb_txdone_entry_check: Warning - TX status

[ 7140.637490] phy0 -> rt2800usb_txdone_entry_check: Warning - TX status

[ 7140.637862] phy0 -> rt2800usb_txdone_entry_check: Warning - TX status
report missed for queue 2 entry 11
[ 7140.638453] phy0 -> rt2800usb_txdone_entry_check: Warning - TX status
report missed for queue 2 entry 14
....

Funny, I get those messages with rt2800usb on my desktop system.

I've applied those patches: (on latest marvin24 kernel)
rt2x00: fix crash in rt2800usb_write_tx_desc -

Kernel is still compiling on ac100, didn't tested it yet.

Looking forward to hear your results.
