Re: further problems 3810t ubuntu 64
AHCI is _not_ ACPI. ACPI is an interface (API) to power management and
configuration of subsystems (Advanced Configuration and Power Interface,
literally). AHCI (Advanced Host Controller Interface) is an API for SATA.
The first provides a programmer interface to a wide variety of subsystem
configurations; the second provides the OS with a way of managing disks.
They're unrelated; it is just coincidence(1) that disabling either solves a
problem with the Timeline's hard drives under Linux.

(1) Actually, it is possible that they're both triggering the same issue, or
that there's some interaction between AHCI and ACPI that cause the
problem... I don't know. The main point, here, is that they're completely
different interfaces, and disabling one has a different set of
partially-overlapping effects than disabling the other.
