When you say 'portable application' I guess you are referring to the
browser UI engine. See Architecture diag in

This needs an Apache installation and configuration on that machine
where you intend to run it. It would be easier to install the client cli
application wherever you go, in terms of user privileges on the system.
For further discussions on architecture we shall use the diagram on the
wiki for naming components.
