Re: Failed to get nvidia card working using Bios work around
In order to get intel working properly again you have to uninstall all nvidia packages and delete xorg.conf, at least that's what works for me.Do you have any grub startup parameters noacpi irqpoll or other stuff like that? Still trying to understand why I can't get nvidia working ... I actually need it now ... Doh!

Subject: Re: [Asus-ul30] Failed to get nvidia card working using Bios work around
Hi there!
The way I did it was to install nvidia-current from repo. That took care of dependencias and configurations. Changing the BIOS option after that worked flawlessly. I did not make any manual changes to xorg. Making NVIDIA work is well documented on the web, what I'm having problems with, is going back to intel so I can use enhanced SATA.
Good luck

Hallo, I finally had some time to tinker and decided to try and use the nvidia card with its proprietary drivers.
I read that by changing the bios setting Sata from enhanced to compatible it was possible to get the card working.
First I installed the nvidia-current package (I'm using ubuntu lucid 32 bit) and added the line
BusID "PCI1:0:0"
to xorg.conf in the nvidia device section
rebooted changed the bios setting and ... ... ...
No Luck ...
