Re: Audio problems on UL30A with maverick

 

I am having some annoyances with pidgin's notification sounds (don't
know about empathy), but everything else seems OK. Have you tried
enabling maverick-proposed and upgrading the kernel from there? I seem
to remember having read about some alsa fixes there, so maybe it's
worth the try. Also, I did have the problems you describe once, in an
EeePC with Arch, because I had set the soundcard powersave feature on
in laptop-mode-tools (described here:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Asus_Eee_PC_1000HE#laptop-mode-tools).
I'm not sure how to disable that in Ubuntu, though...
