[Bug 1185737] Re: [Enhancement] Ctrl+Tab (Ctrl+Shift+Tab for reverse) to switch between tabs
I'll add that the Gnome users are used to use Ctrl+Page Down / Ctrl+Page Up —for reverse switch— to navigate tabs. Even think it's defined as a standard.
So, can be a nice addition too I think.
But still, Ctrl+Tab / Ctrl+Shift+Tab —for reverse switch— (one hand
possible therefore! which explains its popularity) is becoming a new "de
facto" standard as used often on all platforms and on cross-platform
applications (Chromium/Chrome, Firefox, etc. which by the way offer the
two possibilities built-in, so everybody is happy).
Personally, I think these two popular methods to navigate tabs should be
added so.
P.S.:
A bonus will be the other classic one: Ctrl+1 to switch to Tab 1 (Timeline), Ctrl+2 to switch to Tab 2 (Mentions), …
"Echofon for Mac" uses that too for example.

Title:
[Enhancement] Ctrl+Tab (Ctrl+Shift+Tab for reverse) to switch between
tabs
Status in Birdie:
New
Bug description:
As it's now becoming a standard behavior (classic/generic pattern
detected here therefore), it'll be cool to allow us to switch between
the tabs (timeline, mentions, etc.) with Ctrl+Tab. And Ctrl+Shift+Tab
for reverse mode.
Used to do that very often in "Echofon for Mac" but also in browsers
of all OS and many other applications with "tabs" system (often
represented by icons too, like here in Birdie).
TECHNICAL INFORMATION:
OS: Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS (with Cinnamon)
Birdie version used: the r244 from the DAILY repository
