Hello, I think improving the selection widget is better, because the
selection widget here has the advantage of being faster (one server round
trip less).

every (entitled) user must be able to enter new titles / legal forms of corporations without navigation to Sales/Config/addressbook/....
may be the current solution works well in English speeking countries, not so in Austria (and ....) where (various) titles are part of the name and widely used. It is considered impolite not to use correct titles.

alternate solution
* allow to open the resource with right mouse click on selection widget.
