you're in the same case, so the patch will fix the issue.
If you want to install the current beta, use our PPA:

Bug description:
  Cannot use netspeed to display wlan0 information.
  However, the result of `cat /proc/net/dev`is correctly listing the wlan0 interface:

  (wlan0 is the third line)
