I'm not able to reproduce the problem here.
could you please provide the debug outputs ?

cairo-dock -l debug > log.txt

then reproduce the problem, and then post the content of log.txt

PS: if you remove the LO launcher, then open a document (a new icon
should appear) then close it, does the icon disappear ?

  after closing the application the application is still active in
  cairo-dock

Bug description:
  On Ubuntu 12.04 with xfce after updating Cairo-Dock to 3.3.1 the
  following problem appears:

  I start an application by double-clicking a file in a file manager. If
  I close the application, the application - i.e. libreoffice writer -
  is still marked as active in cairo-dock. So if I want to start the
  same application again by cairo-dock, it doesn't work, because cairo-
  dock thinks the application is opened already. So I have to start the
  application with right-click->open new instance, which is annoying. In
  cairo-dock 3.2.1 this problem wasn't there.
