I included this is a merge proposal comment. I know not all these are read
so I thought I would reiterate with you with my latest thoughts.

"I know going trough Debian is considered the 'polite', and sometimes
easier, thing to do. However for some programs this is not feasiable or a
large undertaking. i would include this in the later.

Streamline it for UBUNTU ONLY. Then we can work on Debian inclusion later.

This will get us into Ubuntu faster. We have been dragging our feet on this
and we have people interested, many in this program.

Their are not a ton but many examples of Ubuntu programs not in Debian.

My proposal:

1. rip out, AND SAVE, and code to make CLI Companion work with Debian.

2, Then resubmit for merge w/out debian code.

We can then move ahead. I feel we are stagnating figuring out a problem
with many opinions on how to solve. I would hate to lose interest what
fans, however few, we might have

Thank you again for all people working on this.
We have requests to include this app in Ubuntu derivitaves and I would love
to deliver.

We need to get this out. Though we have been in deep discussion those out
of the loop think we 'may' be unreliable, not maintaining, etc. Let us
chose the quickest attack to reach the most people with a reliable, useful,
program.

Then we can wax on about the intellectual challenge about inclusion in
Debian
