Re: GitHub "Pages" Feature.

I haven't found any mailing list support on github (seems to be the only thing they don't have!)

I do want to get that off of launchpad, as it's kinda crappy (slow). If you find another service, I'm more than happy to move. (I wonder what php.net uses--their posts get indexed on markmail, which is a great site for searching for content in mailing lists)

FYI: I've created the the wiki at https://github.com/coapp/coapp.github.com/wiki

We'll use this as our main Wiki , so we should start putting our content into there.

I spent some time last night playing with the github pages stuff, and I'll probably spend a couple more evenings at it, and I should have a better-than-orchard site up PFQ, that we can use for our more-static content.

Do we also want to move our distribution lists over to github as well, consolidating everything there? (I assume github has that capability but would need to confirm.)

I can’t believe I didn’t see this until now.

Github has a way of building a website hosted right on Github itself—including pointing our custom domains right to it.

http://pages.github.com/ describes the how-to regarding using pages.

Apparently, we can also use pages with something called Jekyll as a blogging platform too (and disquss for comments).

I’ve created the coapp.github.com repository in the CoApp project, and http://coapp.github.com already shows it.

Given the massive amount of buyer’s remorse I’m feeling over using Orchard, I think this would be much better.

Has anyone used github pages to setup a blog/complex website?
