[Bug 441736] [NEW] Compiz crashes, settings won't stick

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: compiz

Ubuntu 9.04, wubi install

Occurred before in another version, but managed to fix and shrugged it
off

Apparently randomly, compiz will crash. Settings are returned to
default, and graphic effects are set to none.

Changing compiz settings, doesn't stick, the settings do, but the active
modules don't, when backing out of a configuration menu (compizconfig-
settings-manager) modules have been set to default.

Changing graphic effects at first seemed to only go up to normal levels
(Cube would be replaced with wall), but later, by loading a profile into
the settings manager, (Which loads settings, must change modules without
opening config or they will reset) all options, from none to full,
appear to result in none. (Which leads me to believe this is more than
just a ccsm bug)

After the crash, occasionally, the amount of workspaces is reduced to
the standard 2, and the windows are all moved to workspace #1

Restarting X does nothing to fix it, but restarting does, however you
still need to re-setup your compiz settings.

It appears to occur randomly, I woulden't know how to reproduce it.
