[Bug 984243] [NEW] Screen flickers under Unity 3d --Precise upgrade

Public bug reported:

Both my main laptop screen and my external monitor flicker intermittently and unpredictably.

There are two glitches.
1. The entire screen/s flicker/s as did those ancient "tube" monitors. It reminds me of running X11 (Gnu/Linux) on my old fruity colored iMacs from 2007.
2. It looks like a line is drawn horizontally somewhere midway across the screen. One half freezes (for a split second) and the other continues. They quickly re-sync, but the disparity is visible. This one only occurs on my external monitor.

-It's more common on my external monitor, meaning sometimes the very same glitch occurrence occurs on both screens, and sometimes just on the external, but never just on the laptop.
-It doesn't happen in Unity 2D, thus my feeling it's a compiz issue.
-It's unpredictable, meaning it doesn't happen after changing workspace/virtual desktops as is reported elsewhere, and thus a bug of its own.
-This glitch first appeared during the Precise upgrades. There is no precedence for it on my hardware by way of my own experience.

On the iBook Pro: Gallium 0.4 on ATI RV530 running Intel GMA 950 using 64 MB RAM if the specs are correct.
The external monitor/TV is a Citizen, LCD by the looks of it.
