[Bug 1013228] [NEW] Transparency on rotating cube not working

Public bug reported:

I set the transparency of the cube faces to 10-20, so the backsides of
windows (3D) can be seen.

This has stopped working today.

Also the desktop has "dissappeared" meaing no icon showing or right
mouse menu. The background (default) is still shown.

This occurred after update.
