Message #41676
[Bug 1074549] [NEW] The Displays Settings Applet is broken.
Public bug reported:
I have two monitors with my desktop spanning both of them, side-by-side.
I am using the Catalyst Driver from AMD.
When I change the Launcher Placement to the monitor on the left, a
dialog pops up saying:
The selected configuration for displays cound not be applied.
requested position/size for CRTC 147 is outside the allowed limit: position=(2560, 0), size=(1600, 1200), maximum=(3760, 2560)
It appears that this calculation is failing to account for the fact that
the second monitor is rotated and so is actually 1200x1600.
Inspite if what the dialog says, the launcher does get placed on the
left, however when I reboot it is back on the right, and changing it
produces this dialog every time.
Release: Ubuntu 12.10 (64 bit)
Package: gnome-control-center 1:3.4.2-0ubuntu19
I expect no error messages and the settings to persist after a reboot.
I get error messages and the Unity Launcher is back on the wrong side after reboot.
** Affects: compiz (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
