[Bug 1178157] [NEW] Compiz crashes when HDMI monitor changes power state

Public bug reported:

I have a dual monitor setup with one HDMI and one DVI monitor plugged
directly into my on-board graphics card. When the HDMI monitor is
switched off manually, or by power-saving I frequently (but not always)
get a crash. This doesn't happen with the DVI monitor.

I am using ubuntu 13.04 (fresh install) although I did copy my home directory over from 12.10.
Compiz is at version 1:0.9.9~daily13.04.18.1~13.04-0ubuntu1.

Graphics card and driver details:

01:05.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI RS880 [Radeon HD 4290] (prog-if 00 [VGA controller])
Subsystem: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. Device 8454
Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 18
        Memory at d0000000 (32-bit, prefetchable) [size=256M]
        I/O ports at b000 [size=256]
        Memory at fe6f0000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=64K]
        Memory at fe500000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=1M]
        Expansion ROM at <unassigned> [disabled]
        Capabilities: <access denied>
        Kernel driver in use: radeon

This problem did not occur on by 11.04, 11.10, 12.04 or 12.10 setups
which had the same hardware, and same radeon driver.
