Can please try the following?

svn co http://svn.contextgarden.net/minimals/bin/tex/linux-64/luatex
cd luatex
mkdir x
svn add x
svn cp current/luatex x/
ls -l x/

I'm curious if the file x/luatex is executable on your system or not.
It is on mine and it should be on yours, but maybe something weird
happens.
