I'm completely on board with this. This is exactly what I was referring
to in my reply yesterday re: Banning of Rccu.

These are great, Andrew. Good show! I might consider tweaking #2 to
include links for those who need a more direct approach:
"2. Do not discuss, or post links to, questionable topics in the
channel; including (but not limited to): porn, adult humor, illegal or
questionable acts and content."

I think it's great. Personally, I might tweak the wording on #2 to
sound a bit more positive:
"There's no need to ask if you can ask a question; just ask it. :)"

I also agree that it's probably good to have these guidelines for Issue
Resolution, but I would take them at that: guidelines, not rules.
If someone's needlessly and carelessly breaking the rules, like
attacking others or posting porn links and they've been warned and don't
respond to the warnings, I see no reason to give them four tries. I say
three strikes, you're out, baby. :)
Heck, CrunchBang is quick and responsive, so I think our ops should be too.
Seriously, though, after spending some time in the channel, you get the
feeling for who's in there to socialize and who is learning and helping.

Love it.
Finally, as I mentioned yesterday, I think once the rules are approved,
we should incorporate a link into the IRC greeting and also post an
announcement on the forums.
