Re: new user with questions
To split two scanned pages, consider using Scantailor. It is GPL software and runs on Linux, Windows, and I've run it just fine on a Mac. The images that result are 600 dpi by default, but I think you can change that if cuneiform doesn't like the 600 DPI.
