[Bug 828556] [NEW] When wireless is enabled, anything touching the network deadlocks in the kernel

Public bug reported:

After the update today (2011/09/18), if I have by broadcom wireless
enabled then, after a minute or so of uptime, anything which touches the
network will get deadlocked in in the kernel, with rtnl_lock near the
top of the kernel stack. This includes everything from firefox and
evolution, to "ip addr" and even "sudo", which obviously makes the
system nearly unusable. This also prevented "stop network-manager" from
returning.

This doesn't seem to be directly a kernel problem - the 3.0.0-8-generic
kernel was working fine up until today, and I've also tried the
3.0.0-7-generic kernel which also worked; the same issue occurs.

Syslog attached.
