[Bug 1439084] [NEW] Install button missing in Extensions menue
Public bug reported:
To install an extension directly from a file on the local hard disk, the
documentation on http://kb.mozillazine.org/Extensions_%28Thunderbird%29
reads:
"Press the Install button in Tools -> Extensions (it's Tools -> Add-ons
-> Extensions in 2.0) in Thunderbird. (In newer versions of Thunderbird,
click on the "Gear" icon to access this function and others.) "
However, there is no install button. I managed finally to install the
plugin by drag and drop from nautilus after searching the web, but this
is nowhere documented.
Removal of that that button was in my opiniton once again a rather
unnecessary but for useres very annoying interface change. At least the
documentation should be updated.
Opening the XPI with thunderbird by the way just creates and empty mail
with the xpi as attachment, I think that's acceptable in that case, as
this behaviour will be desired for most files.
