[Bug 1445954] [NEW] Sorting of folders by modification date is meaningless

Public bug reported:

Steps to reproduce

- open a folder that contains subfolders (and optionally files), of which at least some contains in turn at least a couple of levels of subfolders with files inside it
- select list view
- click on the "modified" column to sort items by modification date

Expected:
* both the files and folders should be ordered by modification date. For folders, modification date should be the date of last modification of the item most recently modified inside the folder, RECURSIVELY. That is, for example, the folder containing the file most recently modified, at ANY level of its subtree, should be considered the most recently modified folder

Observed:
* Files stright inside the current folder are ordered correctly, but folders are ordered in a seemingly random manner. Often, the folder that you'd expect to be on the top of the list (in reverse chronological order) is pretty close, but many times it's not, and the overall sorting certainly doesn't satisfy the expected criteria.

I suspect the modification dates of items inside the folders are taken
into account but not recursively. If that is the case, it's a
meaningless and hence wrong criteria.
