[Bug 1452171] [NEW] No password field appears after wake from sleep

Public bug reported:

To reproduce, close laptop lid and allow to go to sleep. Some time
later, open laptop lid. No password field appears and I can't unlock the
screen, see attached screenshot. This only happens sometimes (maybe one
in ten or fewer?). It seems very similar to another bug which is
allegedly fixed, so I have raised this one.

The mouse cursor moves. Ctrl-Alt-F1 to a terminal and sudo services
restart lightdm restarts X but still results in no password field.
