[Bug 726734] Re: Ubuntu Software Center won't let me install anything

 

Thanks for reporting this error, Matthew, and we're sorry we didn't get
to it earlier.

The code has changed a lot since your report, so it's quite likely this problem has been fixed anyway. If you still experience the problem, you can help get it fixed by providing the error message:
1. close Ubuntu Software Center, if it's open already
2. enter the command "software-center" in a Terminal window
3. trigger the error
4. copy the exact text from any error alert that appears, and paste it into this bug report
5. copy any error output from the Terminal window, and paste it into this bug report too.

  Ubuntu Software Center won't let me install anything

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: software-center

  I am using Ubuntu 10.10. I went into the Ubuntu Software Center 3.0.4
  to install Wine, but after clicking install it popped up with an error
  saying package depedencies cannot be resolved. Basically, anything
  other than Wine doesn't even have an install button.
