Public bug reported:

Nautilus is slow to load even when loading an empty folder. Takes longer
to open a folder with a more than 6 folders in it.  Even longer to load
the home folder first or going back to home folder. When I say slow to
load, I mean 30 seconds when loading home or going back to home folder.

New install Ubuntu 11.10 release.

I lowered the preview icons size to 1mb and still a problem. As I said
it is even long when opening an empty folder.

AMD 64 so using 64 bit version of Ubuntu 11.10.

The following Hard Drive Config I have used since Karmic with no
troubles.  I did do a format on SDA and SDB drives.

hard drive setup
SDA 160 Western Digital IDE
SDA1 = /boot ext2 
sda 2 = / ext4
sda 3 = swap 

SDB 250gb Sata drive
sdb 1 = /home ext4  

SDC 250 gb Western Digital IDE
sdc 1 = xp system ntfs
sdc 2 = xp my documents ntfs

sdd (USB drive) 1tb Hitachi xl1000
sdd 1 = /home/user/Library ext4  
sdd 2 = fat32 storage drive
