Message #35762
[Bug 875968] [NEW] Ubuntu Software Center hangs searching
Public bug reported:
It takes 20 seconds to finish loading. It takes a couple of seconds
before it even acknowledges that you have clicked on it (in the column
of icons along the left hand edge of the screen). Then the icon flashes
slowly for another eight seconds or so before a window appears on the
screen. Then another ten seconds or so before it finishes loading.
Is this really the future of computing? Faster and faster processors and
ever more memory so I can sit around and wait for the stupid machine to
collect all it's ducks from the far corners of virtual memory?
This smells like the work of a committee.
** Affects: firefox (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
