[Bug 874747] Re: Ubuntu11.10 default un-responsive. I have to use Gnome.

Thank you for your bug report, can you switch to a vt using ctrl-alt-f1
when that happens? Could you add your Xorg.0.log and Xorg.0.log.old and
maybe the .xsession-errors from a broken session (restart and log from a
vt to get it if you can't get to a vt before restarting)

Title:
Ubuntu11.10 default un-responsive. I have to use Gnome.

Status in “unity” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
After the 11.10 upgrade, I started Firefox and also tried to move
Thunderbird upward on the launchbar. That's when the system locked-
up. I cycled power and logged in again, but the system remained un-
responsive, except for the mouse cursor. I cycled power again, and
logged-in using classic Gnome, which works fine.
