[Bug 861564] Re: empty page printed at the end
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The issue you are reporting is an upstream one and it
would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug to the developers
of the software by following the instructions at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME. If you have done so, please
tell us the number of the upstream bug (or the link), so we can add a
bugwatch that will inform us about its status. Thanks in advance.

Title:
empty page printed at the end
Status in “evince” package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
(This bug started to occur only recently; it may indicate that this
bug was imported in one of recent updates related to printing.)
We have a HP LaserJet p2055dn printer on our network. It has a
usual IP address and some configurations settings. See attached files.
When I send a PDF document [or just selected page(s) from it] on the
printer, one empty page is printed at the end. This is especially
annoying when I need to print several copies of a single-page
document. I stress that I have duplex printing off when printing
1-page document. (Anyway this should not matter.)
When I print the same document or a page of it from the Google Chrome
built-in document viewer, everything is OK: requested pages are
prinited and that is all; no empty page produced.
My most recent test of this odd behaviour was accomplished using a
public document
http://www.kf.elf.stuba.sk/prakticke/EmisiaElektronov_20110917.pdf
(note that this link may change in near future).
In attachment I am sending the /etc/cups/printers.conf file (with IP
addressed partially overwritten in order not to disclose them to
public).
I will send also head and last line of the /etc/cups/ppd/HP-BW.ppd
file which has likely something to do with the buggy printing. (I am
not sending the whole file as it has some copyright statement .)
Interestingly, when I send the document (actually a selected page of
it) on other printer on our local network, it works correctly, i.e.
the page is printed and there is no empty. This other printer is a HP
Color LaserJet 2605dn.
