I can confirm that it works fine with Nokia 2690 both with your jar and a freshly built one.

I don't think we have much experience with sony ericsson phones, I think everyone is using some kind of Nokia Series 40 phone. That it seems to work fine downloading, suggests that it is not a problem with the phone settings, so then it looks like it might be an incompatible phone. But I don't really know.
