You can actually run a linux mydatamart binary on ubuntu though I've not
even done that myself for a while as the purpose of the program is to
provide a way of working with your data and MS Excel (for which you really
require windoze).  The mydatamart binary will also run on linux under wine,
but again fairly pointless without excel.

I agree with Mark ... virtualbox is probably the best solution for running
excel on linux.  And run mydatamart on the same box.
