Hi Ryan,

There should be no software requirements other than a recent version of Java. For version 2.20, you will need Java 8 and a recent version of Tomcat . It may run on Tomcat 6, but not sure. Also, a recent version of Postgresql (9.3 at least) would be recommended.

As for hosting, we have to stick with our WHO infrastructure for now, no cloud hosting services possible.
On the software side, we are considering moving from 2.15 to 2.18 or even 2.20.
We have already moved to JRE version 7. Other than upgrading tomcat to version 6,7 or higher, I was wondering what other software requirements are needed for those two releases (2.18, 2.20).

Hi Ryan,
This depends on a lot, but here are some initial starting points.

In general a 4GB server works quite well for a small instance, although you can decrease this perhaps to 2 GB in a real pinch. Using a VPS service like Linode or Amazon is highly reccomended. There are also professional hosting companies available on the DHIS2 web page which can take care of all of this for you.

Should you choose to purchase your own hardware, of course a lot more is needed (UPS, backup equipment, etc etc)
