Hi Laura,

As Olav says we have seen this a few different times, under different
circumstances. The original message was here

Unfortunately, yours truly ends the thread with "I fixed it,but will detail
the problem when I get back"...and I never say actually what the problem
was and I cannot recall the exact fix. I am pretty sure in this case it was
related to an option set which was assigned to a data element, but the
option set had no members, which caused this error.

I recall another instance where an orgunit had a control character (new
line) which caused the same error.

So, as Morten says, it is likely a bad piece of metadata somewhere which
will need to be tracked down using JSONLint to determine exactly what is
causing the error.
