I tried everyone's suggestions, thank you all for offering help.
In the long since I installed on my personal VPS, I basically switched
to another DB and started over. I am getting better results now.
I guess I must have done something wrong earlier.

Even if U are an admin, you might need to update the user account
to attach data
2.29 also now has a very complex sharing settings that you might
need to look at on the dataset, data elements etc. Confirm that
you have view data right on the dataset and related objects.
Then check again.
