I've installed a Skype plug-in for Pidgin using skype4pidgin: http://eion.robbmob.com/ This allows me to chat with my skype friends through Pidgin, as long as Skype is running.
I've activated the Pidgin plug-in for Gnome Do but not the Skype plug-in for Gnome Do.
I can only search for Skype usernames in Gnome Do, rather than Skype fullnames. This isn't the case for my buddies on MSN. The portraits/avatars of Skype users work however. I'm not sure if this is a bug in the Pidgin plug-in for Gnome Do, or a bug in the skype4pidgin plug-in.
