The problem is it was not a straightforward (for us). The whole
business with adapt/refine is tied to quite a big effort to port the
adaptivity to C++.

Looks like Marie is doing some progress on getting her branch ready
for merge so I don't expect any problems getting the adapt/refine
functions in place before the release.
