That is a very well written application. Reading over it, I did see a 
single (possible) grammatical error. The following sentence seems to 
run on, and at the least it is quite awkward:

know that each and every one in the project matters.

May I suggest:

>As well as learning a number of skills, students will be surrounded 
by friendly people that are always willing to share their knowledge and 
let each other know that each and every person in the project is 
important.
