I've seen projects do it on Github. They've been successful using the
wiki feature, and less successful by leaning on Github's feature of
rendering any file named README when viewing the project tree. I'm not
sure it's the best option, however.
Personally, I would use a wiki to create a landing page like that. We
could get a free Confluence license. The only downside I see is that
leaves us without a place to host raw HTML pages for things like
Javadocs. Nothing that a simple Apache site can't solve.
Ray, I'm interested to hear your thoughts since you currently have a
project hosted on Google code but with it's source in Github.
