Wow these symptoms are extremely strange. Do you see any errors in your
logs? The updates log is very high volume so you may have to 'grep -v'
out the normal messages to see anything there. Any exceptions in
console.log? Please look at the logs for all the carbon daemons
(including the relay) because something is definitely wrong and it must
be within the carbon daemons but I'm not sure what it might be yet. Are
only the carbon-cache metrics affected or are the carbon-relay's metrics
also affected?
