[Question #240875]: Dashboard browser

New question #240875 on Graphite:
https://answers.launchpad.net/graphite/+question/240875

Hello,

I'm using graphite since few weeks, and thanks for it, because it is really grate piece of software.

But there is a few things that can't be set up, or I can't find out how to do it, so I've got a few question, mostly about dashboard interface:

1) Are you planning to add restrict access functionality to dashboard for groups in near future ?

2) Are you planning, to add some kind of dashboard tree-browser (al'a CACTI-style ) to dashboard interface (maybe instead of metric browser? In most cases - I think - people uses Graphite Composer, no metric browser in dashboard interface )

I addressed this "problem" by myself and created Dashboard tree-browser (al'a CACTI-style) which replaced original metric browser.
Code is a little bit messy :), but I needed something working for now.

I didn't wanted break main functionality so, I just copied dashboard files, modified it, and replaced link to dashboard interface to my new interface - /dbrowser.

	It looks like this (PNG):

Do you planning write something like this above in near future ? (I'm not a JS or python guru, but I could help and clean my code up if somebody would like to work on it and merge in main tree). For now it working very well in my installation of graphite.

3) For now as I noticed, graphs are assigned to profiles (users), it would be great if I could mark graphs as a "shared" not assigned to any user (or assigned to default profile) and modify them in >>Graphite Composer<< (modify and save in the same place, not in my profile).

Thanks for answers
Andrew
