Status in Getting Things GNOME!: Confirmed Bug description: Rename the 'Dismiss' function in the UI to 'Archive', like Gmail - this better reflects what it actually does. When I saw the Dismiss button, I assumed that this would be for dismissing pop-up reminders of some sort, not archiving tasks - which is what it actually does. At present this encourages people to use 'Delete' when then really wanted 'Archive'. The concept of 'Archiving' things is well understood by people in general, because it's a real life idiom applied to physical paperwork, etc... It's also a big part of GMail's functionality & interface, so is well tested and supported in the real world for information management applications.
