holland-mysqllvm in 1.0.8 has updated the tar archiver to support pre-
and post- args that can directly manipulate the tar commandline we use.
So a fix for this bug has, in fact, been backported to 1.0.8.

  holland-lvm should support includes as it does excludes

Bug description:
  Currently LVM supports exclude and does not copy the socket by
  default. It might be nice to have an option to only include, perhaps
  mimicing the xtrabackup behavior, such as:

  120322 16:27:52  innobackupex-1.5.1: Finished backing up .frm, .MRG,
  .MYD, .MYI, .TRG, .TRN, .ARM, .ARZ, .CSV, .CSM and .opt files

  Of course we also want ibdata* and */*.ibd
